As our society is all
about sharing expertise and skills in promoting health in a holistic way, four
of our members were happy to have that opportunity with a support group called
PACT (Phobics with Anxiety Coping Together). In February, Marilyn Wanser, Dr. Sharon
Rasa, Judy Naturale and Douglas Economy met with six members of the group at
Somerset Medical Center.
The organization’s
leader contacted Marilyn and asked if we could meet with them to discuss
techniques for dealing with anxiety.
Marilyn initiated the presentation with a relaxation meditation, a tool
undoubtedly beneficial for relieving anxiety and phobias. Subsequently, Douglas
described how people can heal themselves through certain techniques whereby
they dis-identify from their “dysfunctional” self and access their
Essence, a consciousness within that has the power of healing any affliction .
Thereafter, Sharon emphasized the significant degree to which anxiety and
depression is related to unhealthy nutrition and lifestyle as well as the
counterproductive and detrimental effects that conventional medication and
dietary supplements can have. Finally, Judy presented the power of essential
oils as safe and effective agents for relieving anxiety and depression.
It was gratifying to
experience the warm reception and open-minded keen interest that the audience
had for the presenters and their messages. It was palpable that the support group
members were excited to have encountered new openings and possibilities for
growth and healing.
